I-95 Crash Jams Traffic For 7 Miles In Prince William County (Updated)

Traffic was tied up on I-95 for miles in Prince William County on Wednesday afternoon as police investigated a crash.

UPDATE: Triangle Driver, 69, Dies By Suicide On I-95, State Police Say 

At around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, Department of Transportation officials issued an alert advising that three northbound left lanes on I-95 near Woodbridge were closed due to a crash in the area of Opitz Boulevard. 

One right lane was opened around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, and traffic was slowly getting by there and in the shoulder while police investigated and crews worked to clear the crash scene.

Traffic was still being held up as of noon, with the north left shoulder, left lane, center lane, all closed. Backups were estimated at about seven miles by the DOT.
